Welcome to Blenheim Class.
I hope you have all had a lovely summer; here is some important information for you to read.
Homework to be given out on a Friday.
‘Busy Ants’ maths sheets will be handed out on a Friday and collected in the following Thursday. This follows their previous week’s objectives and is a test of retention. If your child is finding it difficult, after 20 minutes stop and write a short note and sign to say they found it difficult.
If children wish to complete any additional Maths homework, they can log into ‘Bug Club’ and go on the ‘Abacus’ section and search for online tasks, which relate to their objective. This cannot be completed as a substitute for the ‘Busy Ants’ sheet.
Reading School books or using ‘Bug Club’ must be completed at least three times a week, as part of the school’s expectation. Please remember to bring in your library books every day, especially on your designated library swap day.
Due to the new National Curriculum spelling expectation children will have their own individual set of spellings to practise at home. All children have been tested on all sets of spellings from the National Curriculum and this is how their spelling lists have been formulated. Children will have to achieve spelling each word correctly three times in a row before receiving a new spelling. The quantity and variety of spelling words will change regularly according to the results of their tests.
P.E will be on Monday, Thursday and Friday. Please leave PE kits at School during the term, as PE kits may be needed for other activities on non-PE days. Children are to bring in the standard Bradfield P.E kit. As the weather turns colder, we will be looking for children to have a plain black/navy tracksuit in school for outdoor PE.
I hope you have all had a lovely summer and are ready to start another school year!
